My favorite area of interest has been painting landscapes, but I am exploring adding people to these scenes. This is an evolving style, so hopefully, more figures will begin to show up in my paintings.

As a child, my family vacations were camping trips to the national parks of the United States. My parents taught me to appreciate the beautiful country we live in. As an adult, my husband and I continued to travel the United States and visit the national parks. The scenery is spectacular. We especially love the southwest and many of my recent paintings are scenes from Colorado, Utah and New Mexico.

I learned the joy of gardening from my mother. She delighted in sharing her garden and showing off a flower that had just burst into bloom. I am in awe of a Creator who gifts us with such beauty and variety and I desire to capture that beauty in my art. Flowers make me happy.

My fondest memories of my youth are the weekends spent at the family beach house playing on the beach and enjoying the Gulf of Mexico. Now I have my own beach house in Galveston so that my grandchildren can enjoy those same wonderful memories. I delight in prowling the beach and grasslands with my camera capturing wonderful scenes to paint.
